May 7: Art 4 AIDS Lifecycle auction at Artillery Apparel Gallery, SF
A good friend of the Oh Dang! fam is hosting an art auction on May 7 at Artillery Apparel Gallery in SF to raise raise funds for participation in the AIDS Lifecycle bike ride from SF to LA. Let's help him hit that $3,000 mark so he can ride in memory of an uncle he lost to AIDS. All proceeds, of course, will go to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. The event will feature art from Oh Dang! family members J.Todd.O, Ethel Agonoy-Maharaj, Krys Simon and others. Oh, and there's food and drank. A $5-$10 donation is recommended, but do you really wanna be that dick who refuses to pay for a fundraiser? For a $30 donation, you'll receive a limited edition t-shirt designed by Cukui and RYFL. You're not a true Bay Area hip-hop head if you've never been to Hip Hop in the Park at People's Park in Berkeley. For 14 years, they've brought quality hip-hop, live graffiti, b-boy/b-girl showcases and positive vibes to the people--all people, that is, all ages--and for FREE. This year's lineup is ridiculous and features Seattle's Blue Scholars, Detroit's Invincible, Bay/LA's Rocky Rivera and my young homeys from Oakland, the Kurse crew, along with many others.
