The legendary Beat Junkies are taking over Club Mighty for the second of VTech Phones' Frequency concert series.
The World Famous Beat Junkies, of course, need no introduction. But for the young bucks for whom CDs are as obscure as laser discs and who say shit like, "Oh yeah, I think my dad had a cassette player in his '88 Camaro I-ROC Z", consider the Beat Junkies something like alchemists, who make magic out of the archaic craft of scratching vinyl and beat juggling. Since the early 90s, they've continued to rock radio shows, dominate DJ battles, drop mixtapes, produce and DJ for various hip-hop crews and keep the art of turntablism alive.
They hit SF on Oct. 23 with a special four-turntable set featuring Beat Junkie members J-Rocc, Babu, Rhettmatic and Shortkut, along with a special set from Mr. E.
