Christmas time is here. For some of you, that might mean Santa Claus, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, snowflakes, carols and all that corny shit. For us, it means A Christmas Story marathons and dope hip-hop. As he does every December, indie rap veteran The Grouch (Living Legends) embarks on his annual How the Grouch Stole Christmas tour, which touches down this Thursday, Dec. 10, at Slim's in San Francisco. (See remaining dates below.)
Supporting the Simple Man is hyphy ambassador Mistah F.A.B., Cen Cal spitkicker Fashawn, producer Exile and DJ Fresh. I know we've talked about Fashawn again and again, but with nonstop, back-to-back touring and an impressive debut LP, he's hands down 2009's Rookie of the Year. If you have yet to check out the kid (or even if you have), you're in for a special treat as producer Exile will bless the stage with him, no doubt getting down on the MPC as only he can do. Plus, Fabby Davis' energy is undeniable, and Grouch's live show is what's made him a west coast fixture for well over a decade. Expect classic cuts from Living Legend's meanest as well as new joints off his forthcoming Three Eyess Off the Time.
Date/Time: Thursday, Dec. 10, 9:00pm
Price: $18. All ages.
