Soul of Mischief's 93 'til Infinity might just be my favorite album of all time. I was about 9 or 10 when the album dropped, and it blew me away. I'd never heard anyone flip rhymes the way they did with such dope production. I think that was the point when I actually started paying close attention to what cats were saying and how they were saying it. Needless to say, I'm geeked that their new album, Montezuma's Revenge, drops Nov. 10. I've been waiting on this for a couple years now, ever since I interviewed A Plus and he told me off-the-record that Prince Paul would be producing most of the album. Despite a few flops from Hiero in recent years, I still get excited when new shit drops, not quite in search of '93 but that same "Oh shit! Did you hear that?!" feeling I got when I heard "That's When Ya Lost." I'm not really impressed with this new joint, and it doesn't sound like a Prince Paul production, so I really hope this isn't a taste of what the rest of the album is like.
