7-11 taquitos really hit the spot at 4 a.m, especially when you've been up for two days straight. We've been busting ass these last few weeks to put together our very first print issue, which is why the updates to the site have been pretty skimpy. (Sorry about that.)
I'll admit, the issue's not perfect. We rushed to put it out. For the final stretch, myself, co-founder Arjay Das and designer Adem Niazi (again, big ups y'all) stayed up for 24 hours to piece it together, so I'm sure you'll find a typo or two. Medium Rare, the clothing boutique we work out of, didn't even get an ad in (sorry Randy!). Unfortunately, we couldn't get all the stories in that we wanted to (sorry Hopie, sorry Kim--we'll make it up to you, promise!). But we've been talking about doing this ever since we started the website and we had to get it out. Not that the print issue has any more weight than the online content--we pride ourselves on quality all around--but it's nice to finally put something in your hands.
It's been a long time coming. A lot of people have invested their time in Oh Dang! and it's great to finally take it to the next level. We're going quarterly starting February, so this is only the beginning. There's just too many people to shout out individually, but thanks to everyone who has worked with us, been featured on the site, came out to an event, or gave us words of encouragement. And a special shout out to Christopher de Leon for killing it with the cover art and to Adem Niazi for the clean design work--let's crack a bottle.
We're distributing this thing guerrilla style, taking it to shops all over the Bay Area and LA in person and shipping 'em wherever we can (my fam in Fiji and Australia, expect a package soon). As well, you can grab copies at any of our upcoming events. And if you're in Las Vegas for MAGIC, we'll be there with stacks in hand. We'll keep you posted with spots where you can pick it up. In the meantime, peep the digital version and let us know what you think.
